Concerts, shows and annual events
Starting with Christmas, characterised 
by various initiatives throughout the area, such as markets, concerts and shows, the hallmark of the Riviera’s annual events is a combination between a modern and effective organisation and respect for local traditions.
One such example is the living nativity, alongside other events of peasant origin such as the “Berolon” and the “Regata delle Beroe” on the 5th and 6th of January. In the same period, the Venice Carnival comes to the area with a procession of floats created by the Municipality’s various districts.
The arrival of summer has always been heralded by the “Festa dea Sparesea”, dedicated to the asparagus, one of the area’s typical products. The Rowing Palio, an enthralling and exciting regatta takes place in June, along a splendid route from Punta Sabbioni to Cavallino, passing along the Pordelio canal, and in which all 12 of the Municipality’s districts participates.
In July, the feast of Our Lady of Carmine represents one of the strongest and most popular local traditions, and in August the beaches along the Riviera light up with a firework display known as “Beach on Fire”.
The same month it is also possible to take part in festivals such as the “Tempeston” or “Suchetta”, to name but two, as the areas bordering the beach provide the venue for initiatives such as concerts, cabaret shows, theatre and open-air cinema.

Beach on Fire, Europe’s largest firework display -
23rd August 2008
Beach on Fire is a firework display of record-breaking proportions: last editions attracted some 200.000 enthusiastic, spectators, fascinated by the breathtaking, awe-inspiring flashes that, in a splendid combination of colours, illuminated the sea and the Cavallino Treporti beach.
